Secrets Of Mendoza

The region around Greater Mendoza is the largest wine-producing area in South America. As such, Mendoza is one of the eleven Great Wine Capitals, and the city is an emerging enotourism destination and base for exploring the region’s hundreds of wineries located along the Argentina Wine Route.

Sicily & Sousa

Sousa – Casa de Vila Nova is located in the sub region of Sousa, the Vinho Verde Demarcated Region, in the North of Portugal. The vinho verde lands are exposed to the Atlantic Ocean winds and influence.

Sicily – Baglio Gibellina U Passimiento is a blend of fresh Frapatto and dried Nero d’Avola grapes grown at high altitude in the Sicilian hills. The rich concentrated red berry fruit is balanced by a lovely freshness.

Up-and-coming

Calusari grapes are grown in rolling, picturesque vineyards that almost look and feel like Tuscany. Calusari is produced by a leading Romanian vineyard Cramele Recas. Englishman, Philip Cox and his Romanian wife Elvira, have put in a huge amount of work into transforming their land into a modern winemaking haven.

Boutique Wineries

In the 1970/80’s sancerre became a cult wine in London restaurants because of it’s food friendly nature & it now has become a favourite with all uk wine drinkers. Croq’ Caillotte is produced from pre-phylloxera vines from Emile Balland’s miniscule 1 hectare vineyard in Sancerre.

Something Different

Cinsault – If you’re a fan of Pinot noir’s light body, red fruit, and spice, give cinsault a try. A large-berried, juicy varietal, cinsault was frequently used as a blending grape, but some winemakers are putting it into the spotlight as a single-varietal bottling. Pro tip: try it slightly chilled

Timeless Classics

A wine that was valued in the past, and is valued today, is on its way to becoming a classic. In this category we have listed a few of our pub classics from a Viognier to Pinotage.
